It is no secrete Accra, the capital of Ghana has some very beautiful and interesting sites that are worth visiting. Experience some cool and beautifully serene sites filled with some rich Ghanaian culture.

THE OSU CASTLE
The famous Osu castle located in the heart of Accra was built by Denmark and Norway during the colonial days. Once served as the seat of Government until moved to the Flagstaff House, top dignitaries such as Queen Elizabeth II and Former U.S president have paid to this historic place.
Currently, the site also holds the mortal remains of late former president Prof. John Evans Atta Mills in a bird sanctuary.
Visiting the Osu Castle would give you insights into what transpired during Ghana’s colonial days.
Some spots to look out for include, Slave Dungeons, a Walkway to the Door of No Return, a water reserve, and a chapel.
LIGHTHOUSE
The 28meters (92ft) structure which was built in the 1930s to replace an earlier one built in the 1870s has become a platform for viewing ecstasy. Because there are no gift shops or ticket offices, if you can manage the spiral staircase you will certainly enjoy some excellent views across Jamestown and the fishing harbor.
KWAME NKRUMAH MAUSOLEUM & MEMORIAL PARK
One of the most south after places for tourists visiting Accra is this place. The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is a very serene place dedicated to Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah for his fierce leadership during the fight for independence. The museum holds the mortal remains of Osagyefor Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and other interesting historic monuments relating to Ghana’s independence.
THE USSHER FORT
Built-in Accra by the Dutch in 1649 as Fort Crèvecœur, and was a day’s march from Elmina and to the east of Accra on a rocky point between two lagoons. Through paintings and more, the Ussher Fort teaches visitors about the history of the West African slave trade. Many visitors visiting a slave castle for the first time are a little shaken by how bad things were in these castles on the shores of Ghana
