About a month ago reigning VMGA reggae/dancehall artist of the year Epixode, threw a massive challenge to upcoming artists to hit in a verse for his latest single “Odeshie”.
To his surprise, the project which was initially designed to select the best(one artiste) blew out of proportion with over 200 entries. With some from Kenya, Zimbabwe, and other continents.
Epixode now and his team in their quest to compromise 10 best artists, record and release it as a Riddim Album, ended up enlisting 50 artists instead.
With the new twist, DatBeatGOD, who produced “Odeshi” has also joined forces with Epixode to create 5 new different Riddims for the already selected 50 artists to ride along with Epixode. Thus, will be producing 50 artists from the initiative — one which has never happened anywhere in the world before; quite unprecedented.
The “avatar” hitmaker held a press soiree cum seminar at Flip Bar in Osu on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, with some professionals and industry stakeholders to educate the selected artists across varied topics from Production, Promotion, Networking, Branding among others.
These professionals include Elorm Beenie, Nana Kwadwo Addo(Media General), Mr. Robert Klah (PRO for Charterhouse ), Datbeatgod, Jonny Blaze, and more.
Epixode, born Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo, won “Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Of The Year” at the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in June 2021. And to his commitment, he decides to open his arms and let fellow Reggae/Dancehall Artistes “behind him” follow his stead and have their platform and recognition through initiatives as this. He is a multiple award-winning artist with numerous hits to his credit.
Below are some images from the seminar and media soiree
