Call For Applications: YouTube Black Voices Fund 2023
YouTube has opened grant applications for artists and content creators to apply for its YouTube Black Voices Fund for 2023.
The announcement comes on the heels of the induction of some 54 international artists, songwriters, and producers, including eight Africans, into the 2022 class. The African roster of artists includes Nigeria’s CKay, Omah Lay, P.Priime and Telz, Uganda’s Azawi as well as Major League DJz, DJ Lag, and Elaine from South Africa. Other alumni include Sho Madjozi, Sauti Sol, and Fireboy DML.
Selected applicants will receive various resources, including:
Dedicated support from a YouTube Partner Program manager.
Seed funding is invested in the development of content.
Workshops and masterclasses throughout the year focused on cultivating new content ideas, video production skills, well-being, and more.
Access to exclusive social and community programs.
Who can apply?
Black creators who are members of the YouTube Partner Program (creators only), and who are located in any of the eligible markets.
Launched in 2020, the program is a multi-year commitment by the video-sharing platform to spotlight and directly support black artists, songwriters, and producers globally. Since its inception, the program has welcomed more than 300 grantees hailing from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, the US, the UK, Brazil, and Australia.
