“Nigerians see Ghanaian artists like normal people, they don’t treat us like Wizkid, Davido or Burna Boy there”
Ghanaian rapper Yaw Tog has spoken out against the harassment he and his entourage received while in Nigeria for the AFRIMMA Awards.
According to him, Nigerians were cruel to him, his female colleague Gyakie, and his friend Kofi Jamar, among other people. In his statement, he said that they had been antagonized and that they were not acknowledged as superstars in their nation.
When it comes to Ghanaian artists, Nigerians don’t treat you as one of their top artists; instead, they treat you like an ordinary person.
“we were not treated like Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy there. When we got there, they treated us differently; everything was normal, as opposed to Ghana, where I would have received some special attention,” says Yaw Tog. “Things were tough out there,” he said to Kojo Manuel on YFM
