Shatta Wale’s “Reign” and “Wonderboy” Albums Restored on Apple Music After MOG Beatz Dispute
Fans of Ghana’s dancehall king Shatta Wale can now breathe a sigh of relief as two of his popular albums, “Reign” and “Wonderboy,” have been restored on Apple Music. The projects, which had been taken down following a heated dispute with producer MOG Beatz, are once again available for streaming.
On August 19, 2025, MOG Beatz announced via X (formerly Twitter) that he had pulled down both albums over unresolved issues surrounding production credit and royalty payments. He accused Shatta Wale of erasing his contributions in order to sell parts of his music catalogue, writing: “You sell my beats, erase my credit, then buy luxury cars.”
The producer further alleged that Shatta Wale wrongfully took credit for songs he and other beatmakers had worked on, claiming the move was meant to secure funds from an international company without their knowledge. MOG warned that taking down “Reign” and “Wonderboy” was only the beginning, hinting at larger legal and industry actions.
However, fresh checks on September 14, 2025, revealed that both albums had been restored on Apple Music — this time with MOG Beatz officially credited as an arranger on the projects. The update suggests that some resolution may have been reached, or at least steps taken to acknowledge his role.
While the controversy stirred debate over intellectual property and fair credit in Ghana’s music industry, fans are simply excited to have Shatta Wale’s classics back on streaming platforms.
