In an audacious endeavor set to make history, Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum, the CEO of Askof Productions Limited, is poised to challenge the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual this December. The board of the Guinness World Record has granted approval for Afua’s ambitious application, setting the stage for an extraordinary musical feat.
To surpass the existing record of 105 hours, Afua aims to sing continuously for an impressive 117 hours. The current record holder, Sunil Waghmare of India, set the bar during a marathon that unfolded from March 3 to 7, 2012.
In a video shared on her Instagram, Afua passionately explained that her motivation for undertaking this incredible challenge is to propel Ghanaian music onto the global stage. Her commitment to promoting the rich musical tapestry of Ghana shines through, as she emphasizes that the marathon will exclusively feature Ghanaian songs spanning gospel, highlife, hiplife, and beyond.
As Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum gears up to embark on this monumental journey, her determination not only seeks to etch her name in the Guinness World Records but also to elevate and celebrate the diverse musical heritage of Ghana. It’s a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries and serve as a cultural ambassador on the global stage. Stay tuned as history unfolds, and Afua’s melodic marathon takes center stage in championing the vibrant sounds of Ghana.
