One of Accra’s tourist attraction point Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum have been closed down until further notice.
Located in the heart of Accra, this was announced in a communique by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture on Friday, May 27, 2022. The sites have been closed down for renovations.
However, it is unknown when the major renovations will commence and when the park will be opened to the public.
The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum is the final resting place of Ghana’s first President and Africanist.
Designed by Don Arthur, the Mausoleum houses the mortal remains of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his wife Fathia Nkrumah.
I think the closure of the mausoleum is a good idea, because it needs renovation.
