VGMA24: Fameye vies for Songwriter of the Year Award again

Ghanaian musician Fameye has expressed his desire to win the Songwriter of the Year award once again at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). In a recent post on his social media pages, Fameye shared a video from last year’s edition, where he won the award for his hit song “Praise.”

In the caption of the video, Fameye expressed his regret at not being able to receive the award in person last year, but he expressed his hope that he would win it again this year and be able to accept it in person.

“Last year we won Song writer of the Year with Praise, unfortunately, I wasn’t around to receive it in person, this Saturday hopefully I take it in Person Thank you”. He Said

However, Fameye faces tough competition from some of the industry’s top talents, including Piesie Esther, Black Sherif, Perez Muzik, Diana Hamilton, and Ewura Abena. All of these artists have released hit songs that have made waves in the industry and have cemented their place as some of Ghana’s best songwriters.

Despite the competition, Fameye remains confident in his abilities and hopes to add another award to his collection. His ability to write catchy and relatable lyrics has endeared him to many fans, and he has quickly become one of the most sought-after artists in the country.

The VGMA is one of the most prestigious music awards in Ghana, and it recognizes the outstanding achievements of musicians in various categories. Scheduled to take place this Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Grand Arena (AICC) Accra. The Songwriter of the Year award is particularly important as it acknowledges the creativity and talent required to write a hit song.

Fameye has already proven himself to be a talented songwriter, and his fans are eagerly awaiting the results of this year’s VGMA. Whether or not he takes home the award, his fans will undoubtedly continue to support him and his music.
